The front desk agents were very attentive at this property as well as all of the trainees. Though they really need to train their servers but I am not sure if that is just lack of work force capabilities. The design intent of the rooms need to be reworked. They are quite uncomfortable but the views are stunning.
i went there but hell .. the reception was not fast in preparing the room .. it took them 45 min to prepare the room .. & to open the reservation ..they took extra money for some reason until now i don;t know why? .. there is no bath top ... the air-condition seems not working very efficient .. i called them to bring some one to my room .. they just ignored me!! ... the pool time until 10:30 pm ... really expensive for the value of money .. if i have time machine .. i will not go there .. i am your time machine now .. don't go there .. ..
We selected this hotel for a business meeting. The hotel is 10 minutes drive from the airport, approx. 20 Lira by taxi. Sheraton also operates a free shuttle which can be picked up outside the arrivals. Ask the hotel about departure times from the airport. The hotel is clean and has a good Sheraton standard. My room 1113 had a nice view to the sea. Bed and bathroom are good and the lighting system convenient. This Sheraton charges you 15 Euro for 24 hours internet. This should be included in the rate in such a hotel which is not a discount hotel. Breakfast is fine and the buffet is 50 Lira
Close to the airport it is the best location for sort stays. The views to the sea of Marmara and the marina are fantastic especialy from the top floors. Nice gym and spa facilities. We really enjoyed the pool and the hamam. We did not eat in the hotel because there are many restaurants around the hotel .
Our family of 4 stayed at the Sheraton Atakoy in October 2012. We have always chosen the Sheraton brand in our travels and this hotel kept up the trademark Sheraton name and service...with the exception of word class instructions in English. Here's what my husband spotted in the elevator - "In case of fire, hold up the phone" (!) What we liked - Well, we liked what everyone likes about Sheraton - 1. The amenities (free airport shuttle to the international terminal, about 10 mins away; free shuttle to the city center where all the sights are; the location next to the world class Galleria shopping mall where we could eat/shop/get our laundry done at a much lower cost than at the hotel), 2. Our 18th floor room with the fantastic view of the Sea of Marmara and the city of Istanbul. Astounding sunrises everyday! 3. Sparkling clean room, top of the line entertainment systems, luxurious bathroom, Wifi for 2 devices with great connection. 4. Breakfast and 'Happy Hour' in the club lounge included. Even if you are teetotalers like us, don't miss the 'club lounge Happy Hour' because the Turkish spread of appetizers, salads, cheeses and desserts is yummy. Our children loved it! Sodas and juices are also served, so not to worry. The Sheraton breakfast does not disappoint, as always. 5. Everything is tastefully decorated, as per the Sheraton international brand. Way better than what you see in the domestic USA Sheratons. 6. Impeccable concierge service, as always. 7. The hotel is ingeniously constructed like a triangular toblerone block, standing up on one end. This allows all hotel guests to have a sea (full or partial)/sunrise/sunset view. What we didn't like: 1. We were promised an upgrade online - that never materialized. We tried contacting the manager about this, and even wrote a letter stating our upgrade request, and all we got in return was a polite refusal. Based on our experience in China/Japan/Malaysia/Brunei/Singapore/USA/, we thought this very atypical of Sheraton and were disappointed. Maybe its a Europe thing...who knows... 2. Very pushy travel agents in the main lobby. These guys have a desk and try to strike up conversations with women. That is annoying too, apart from their high prices. 3. Location is not that great - about 20mins from the main city sights (costs 25 lira one way). Otherwise, the hotel was great and it was the usual Sheraton experience. However, if you want to stay within walking distance of the main sights, it would be wise to book a room in one of the hotels within the inner city limits...or even rent an apartment (as we plan to, next time). Istanbul is quite expensive (taxi fares, eating out, laundry, sight-seeing tickets, souvenirs all add up to a pretty penny). It would be wise to come with a well-prepared wallet if you are staying at the Sheraton Atakoy.
I stayed at this property from May 29th untill 2 nd June as a part of a family getaway. The hotel is located about 10 minutes from the Airport and is sea facing with lovely gardens leading upto the Sea front. There is a nice mall Galeria right opposite the Hotel but the bad part is that the hotel security frisk you at entry and are not allowed to take in any food and drinks back to the room. I have stayed at various upscale properties worldwide but have nowhere faced such a situation. The hotel management was brazen in saying that if they allowed in food etc it would affect their Restaurant sales. In room wifi was perfect and was offered complimentary with my spg membership. Breakfast was good and all drinks like Turkish tea or only hot milk etc if asked for was provided free of charge. We were particularly unlucky as we got awful service at the hotel restaurant during dinner one night as ordered dishes for 2 people were forgotten. On complaining 20% discount was offered. In all the location is good and a lovely riviera nearby with restaurants that come to life in the evening with good music and food.
This hotel takes full five stars on design facilities and rooms ... It is located near Ataturk airport right on the bosphorus it has big gardens very nice out door pool and tennis courts. We stayed at the club floors with a sea view room which was just great. The only down side to this hotel is service ... You would expect more speed more care from Sheraton staff but the fact is they are mostly indifferent and careless ... Too bad this could be a much better place with a proper staff training.
